As a mom in a family living with autism, ADHD and epilepsy, I know the importance of strong, supportive, enduring relationships. I am also very familiar with the struggles that you and the people you love experience when trying to navigate a world that can be overwhelming, isolating, hard and lonely.
As a heart attack and cancer survivor, I know that life-altering changes can cause tremendous strain for you and can impact your most important relationships. I have been there, too, and I get how essential it is for everyone affected by these changes to feel heard, understood and supported.
As a professional in a technical and demanding field, I believe that integral business relationships are built on genuine connection, strong problem-solving skills and successful conflict management. I recognize that the stress and anxiety you experience in challenging work environments can affect both your professional performance and your personal relationships.
In 2020, I returned to school during my professional career to earn my Masters in Marriage and Family Therapy from Converse University in Spartanburg, South Carolina. I completed my clinical internship at EMERGE Family Therapy Center and Teaching Clinic in August of 2022.
I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in South Carolina, a PEERS® Certified Social Skills Provider*, and a NAMA Certified Anger Management Specialist.
In addition to life and my academic and clinical training, I have over three decades of professional experience in marketing research and building industries, and for the past ten years I have worked as a residential construction project manager.
When I am not working or spending time with my family, you can usually find me outside, tackling a landscape project and chasing sunlight.
*PEERS® is an evidence-based social skills treatment for preschoolers, adolescents, and young adults with autism spectrum disorder (ASD), attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), anxiety, depression, and other socio-emotional problems.
